Monthly Challenge #1 - Post 1 - Factory Smog

This is Factory Smog, a mare belonging to DandySandDemon! I've always found Factory Smog very interesting, which is why I've chosen her as one of the four OCs I'll be drawing a piece of gift art for this month. :3

Factory Smog is a mare whose talent is factory working, however, despite it being her destiny as depicted by her Cutie Mark, it isn't something she enjoys. From working at a factory so long, she developed a bad cough thanks to the smoke and pollution, and received a scar from a machinery accident which also prompted her to cut her mane into the style it is now. She is always tired most likely from being overworked in the factory never getting a day off, as shown by the dark circles under her eyes. She hates the pollution that the factory she works in causes because of that harm it can do to the environment, something she strongly cares for.

One of the reasons why I really love this character is because she knows what she is meant to do, what her talent is, but she is unhappy with it. Many people go through life wondering what their true calling is, but something the ponies have over is us that they learn what they are meant to do whenever they get their Cutie Mark, if only it was that simple for humans! However it isn't a stretch to say that some ponies would not be happy with what their destiny was meant to be, they could be good at something but not want to do it, which is the case with Factory Smog. It is a sort of "it sucks but somepony has to do it" sort of job, and a cruel irony for Factory Smog who loves the flowers and trees, things that are being killed by the pollution being created by the factory she works in. It's so much more realistic than every pony having a talent for something they love, like how in real life people have to work at places they would rather not because they need the money. In the case of Factory Smog, she was afraid of quitting because her boss was a violet jerk.

Thanks to the help of a pony named Lightning Rocker (owned by LR-Studios), Factory Smog and one of her co-workers were finally able to escape the factory, freeing them from the torment of their apparent destiny. This is another reason I love Factory Smog, she helps to show that no matter what is predetermined for you in life, you can still have an effect on your own destiny. Anyone can change their life if they really try, it can be very hard sometimes but with the help of friends, you can achieve your goals and become who you want to be. I'm not sure what Factory Smog is going to do now, but whatever it is, she doesn't have to worry about the factory or her old boss ever again. :3

I actually filled out a collab with Factory Smog recently from my 31 day collab filling challenge, which is scheduled to be posted on 22nd. :3 I filled it out with Atrax because it seemed to fit, _{and because I would totally ship them. x3}
