Fuurin is a Shadow Lumping Longma, being half Shadow Lumping Pony on his Father's side, and Longma from his Mother's side. His appearance is close to that of a toy, few Lumping Ponies have wings but thinks to his Longma Mother he does, though they are mainly just for show as he can't use them to fly. Fuurin was not born in the world of ponies, but rather a parallel world full of strange creatures called Shadows, where his Father is from. From the shadow world Fuurin watches the ponies, his Longma power granting luck to those he chooses. Some believe that hanging glass wind chimes outside of their home will help Fuurin to find and grant them luck when they need it. The more luck this strange pony grants, the more power he gains. It's said when he grants somepony luck, the pony will hear glass wind chimes, a sound that his magic makes.
