I've said it before and I'll say it again, Story-Story makes amazing pony designs. Be it a completely serious OC or something meant to be a joke, she puts thought and effort into all of it. ;w; After I gave co-ownership of the Longdi to her, she made me my own Longdi since for whatever reason I didn't have one myself yet despite them being one of if not THE favorite Longma subspecies.

Want to know how long this guy took to complete? I was working on him on and off for at least a week, maybe two, I'm pretty sure he took longer than Hypnotica and that my friends, is saying something. I was actually so afraid I was going to butcher him, but somehow I was able to pull him off and I'm so happy with the result. I feel like I've grown a little bit just drawing him~ <3

Special Somepony: Story-Story's Flame Thrower the Longxidi

Personality: The majority of the time, Hades is stoic and stern. He thinks himself a great leader, but there is substance to his thoughts, he has worked very hard to earn the respect he has today. He's worked hard with his own two legs to try to build a civilized society within Tartarus, and has gained the trust of like minded followers through his determination and confidence. He shows a bit of a different side to his Special Somepony however, behind closed doors he allows himself to let loose a little bit, because he trusts Flame Thrower most than anypony else. She calls him 'Hayhay' as a little joke, and though he pretends as though he hates it (especially in public), he really loves the nickname. He is also fond of puns and makes a lot of really bad 'Dad' jokes to her. It really concerns Flame, because if he makes such bad jokes now, how horrible will they be when he becomes a father?

Hades was born to two Longdi parents, and grew up in Tartarus. During his time there, he met many different ponies, most bad and evil, but there were some who were so kind to him. The majority of the good ponies had been there for centuries, and had shed their old, dark ways in order to lead a happier existence. No matter how good they became however, they would always be forced to stay in Tartarus, the large three headed dog, Cerberus, would never allow them to leave due to the horrible crimes they committed years upon years ago. Things were different for him, he was allowed to leave whenever he wanted, he was born there but had committed no crime, and so Cerberus would allow him and his family to visit the outside whenever they wanted. The above world was so beautiful, but he shared his parents ideals, they wished to remain living in Tartarus because that is where they were born, but these other ponies didn't have a choice, even if they reformed their ways, and he found that very unfair.

In his adolescence he met an Alicorn stallion in Tartarus, and this stallion is what helped Hades cement in his mind what he wanted to do with his life. This stallion was once a King of a nation, but he became mad with power, causing wars and the deaths of many innnocents. When he fell from his throne, his power was taken by the Celestial Sisters, and he was cast into Tartarus for eternity. The stallion told him many stories about himself and what he did, for he saw strength and determination in Hades' eyes from the moment he saw him, he knew he would one day become a leader and he didn't want him to make the same mistakes that were made when he was King. Hades' learned of his transformation from bad to good, how he found himself a wife who would stick by him through thick and thin, his children that had left the nest, and how he didn't have any desire to leave Tartarus now even if given the chance, because his life was better there then it was above ground. This created a spark within Hades' mind.

He mulled it over for days, thinking about what he had recently learned. There were living beings in Tartarus, some of which whom were born there and had done nothing wrong, some of which who had done wrong but learned from their mistakes. They deserved to live like the ponies above ground, why should choosing to stay in Tartarus mean they couldn't be civilized? That is when he decided that he would help to build a legitimate society within Tartarus. Right and wrong would be upheld rather than allowing the evil ponies to run a muck as they pleased, a counsel would be created to be sure bad deeds would be met with justice, and the best interests of the whole colony would be put forth. He knew it would be hard, and he knew it would take a ton of work, but he felt in his warm heart that he would succeed. His first follower was a long time friend of his, a female Longdi by the name of Flame Thrower. He told her of all he had learned and she agreed with his ideals, she would assist him in trying to make Tartarus a better place.

Though they are still far from reaching their goal, Hades and Flame Thrower have gained a number of followers. Some may have their same ideals, while others may have been attracted to their sheer determination and confidence, whatever the reason they remain loyal to the pair and to each other. If a bad weed gets into the bunch chances are somepony is able to sniff them out, word gets around fast in Tartarus so it is hard to hide ones true intentions while there. Hades has another goal he wishes to achieve once his presence and the presence of his colony become known above ground. He wishes to receive and audience with the Princesses and discuss the idea of reformed ponies being permitted to leave Tartarus, for ponies like his King friend who have become good and done good deeds, who wish to go back to the surface where they were born.
