Soft Silk has always loved silk. When she was a newborn plush foal she had a blanket made of silk that she brought with her everywhere because of the lovely feeling it had. When she grew out of it, she decided to learn all she could about it. That's when she learned about silk worms and moths, creatures she had seen around her home of Equinlantis in many different colors. She caught one and raised it, during that time it gave her lots of silk, which she made into a lovely sheet of silk. When it was grown up, she set it free and it flew off back into the wild.

A few months passed, and in this time Soft Silk continued to learn about silk and the worms. One day she took a walk outside, when a silk moth flew up to her, it was the one she had raised! It had brought many other silk moths of all different colors with it, all quite friendly, and they nested in the flowers around her house. That's when she finally gained her Cutie Mark, a silk moth. That is where they lived from then on, when more worms were born, Soft Silk would keep them safe in her house from predators and in return they would create lots of silk which she used to make into sheets which she would sell to those who wanted it. Her silk has been used in many different things, from blankets to dresses.
