Violet is the daughter of a Longma and the granddaughter of an Alicorn, and despite being a Pegasus she can do magic like her mother Spectral Rose. However this mixture of DNA causes her magic to become strange, she can't control when it happens or what it does, but she knows when it's going to happen when her eyes start to leak a strange red smoke. This has caused other ponies to be frightened of her, and has secluded herself in a deep part of the Everfree forest where no one goes because of it, and so she doesn't hurt anypony.

Despite all of this she is fairly happy, she spends her time tending to the flowers of her part of the forest, it seems when she is around they bloom very beautifully. The flowers are like her friends, since she doesn't have any pony friends, and when she feels a bout of magic coming on, she goes inside so she doesn't hurt them. The animals of the forest, including the most dangerous ones stay away from her little area, for they can sense her unpredictable magic.

Violet met her Special Somepony one Nightmare Night. Usually, Violet would just stay in her home in Everfree forest so she wouldn't harm anypony, but tonight seemed different for some reason, she felt very lonely despite enjoying her solitude in the forest. Mustering up all of her courage, she ventured out of the forest and into Ponyville hoping that her dangerous magic could be repressed for at least one night. She walked by many foals in their Nightmare Night costumes and thought they were just the cutest little things, she sampled some of the different kinds of food there was to eat at the celebration, and she even played a few of the games. No pony seemed to know who she was but all the same they were very kind to her. Just as she had forgotten her troubles however, she felt a bout of magic coming on. Her eyes began to smoke red and black, and she felt herself tremble, this was going to be a big one. Other ponies witnessed this and clapped, they thought that it was some kind of Nightmare Night act, but one stallion seemed to know better as he quickly scooped her up onto his back and ran out of town as fast as his hooves could take him. He set her down carefully and then took cover as a whirlwind blast erupted from her, taking leaves and branches with it. When it finally subsided, Violet fell to the ground and the stallion ran to her. As she looked up at him she felt that he seemed very familiar, however couldn't place his face. He was white with a red mane, with what she thought was Nightmare Night makeup on his legs and back.

"A-Are you alright?" he asked quietly.

"... I'm okay. T-Thank you..." she replied, looking to the ground. "... How... did you know?" she asked him.

"Well... lets just say I've dealt with that sort of thing before." he smiled at her as she peeked at him from under her mane. "It's nothing to be ashamed about, you were just born with a gift, as much as it might not seem that way sometimes."

"A gift that could hurt everypony..." she said to him.

"Maybe it can, but if you could learn to control or find a use for it, maybe you could use it to help everypony." he smiled again, trying to cheer her up.

"Well... as it stands right now, I don't think I'll be helping anypony anytime soon!" she said as she giggled a little bit. "T-To be honest, I'd rather just stay in my hut in the forest, everypony would be safer that way, and I can be pretty shy anyway..."

"How about this then, I'll visit you in your hut every once in awhile, maybe once you get use to me, you'll be able to meet other ponies." he said with a smile.

"I... Uh... Well..." she peeked up from under her mane again. He seemed nice enough but there was still something so familiar about him. "Oh... Okay then... What was your name?" she asked him.

"My name is Dem- Um... you can call me D." he trailed off a little as he spoke.

"Okay then, D." she said with a small smile on her face.

"Alright, I guess I'll see you when I see you then..." he suddenly seemed a little bit distant as he got up and trotted fast back to Ponyville.

"W-Wait, D! You don't know where I..." Violet yelled, but he kept on going. "... live..." she sighed, and trotted back to her home.

To her surprise a few days later D showed up at her door despite him not being told where she lived. "How did you find me?" Violet asked.

"Oh... Lucky guess I suppose." he smiled awkwardly, but Violet accepted his answer. She was rather shy towards him at first and he seemed to be a little bit the same way, but by the end of the day they were chatting up a storm to one another. He visited her the next day and the day after that, and surprisingly while he was there she had very few bouts of bad magic, when she did, he was very understanding, helping her outside and ducking in cover so she wouldn't hurt him or her house. If he couldn't get her out in time and it break some of her home, he'd help her fix it each time. She had no idea why he was so understanding of her strange powers but she was thankful for him, so thankful that one Hearts and Hooves day she mustered up enough courage to ask him to be her Special Somepony, not only did he say yes but he was very proud of her that she had gained enough courage to do so, and they've been together ever since.

Violet however, has yet to learn of D, or rather Demon's own little secret. The reason why he is so understanding is because he too has strange magic within him. This magic has been known to turn him into a completely different pony, his body becomes black, his tail becomes slender and fleshy with a little spike on the end, and his personality does a complete 180. The reason why he was so familiar to her is that she had seen him a few times before, while in his demonic form Demon would sometimes run through the forest, either to hide or to get away from anypony who might see him. He had ran by her home a few times while she was outside, which was where she saw him, and thus her hunch was correct despite her not knowing it, she had seen him before.
